Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul singer songwriter and actress. She is the recipient of various accolades like the Grammy Award a Children's and Family Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award along with nominations for the Academy Award. Andra is not just an old-fashioned R&B performer, but her gospel blues and jazz is presented in a manner that is both effortless and sophisticated. Her debut album, Cheers to The Fall (2015) she climbed in to the Top Ten R&B/hip hop charts as well as securing a few Grammy nods. In 2017 her performance on Marshall's music was recognized with an Academy Award. Amen (2019), Then Make Your Troubles Gone Away (2021) as well as the Golden Globe award-winning portrayal as Billie Holiday for The United States Vs. Billie Holiday (2017) has helped to build anticipation. Andra Day is the daughter of Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts and performed at churches. Her focus changed towards modern R&B and pop when she graduated, but eventually was attracted back to the jazz and soul singers that she had listened to in her youth. Kai Millard Morris recorded a performance of Day which she later shared with her husband Stevie Wonder some of Day's music. Motown legendary Adrian Gurvitz connected Day and the veteran music businessman. Day was a part of Gurvitz's Buskin label and Jeffrey Evans' Buskin record company, gained a cult popularity on YouTube, and was signed with Warner Bros. in 2012. Day then released her debut track Forever Mine. It was picked up and played on the radio by numerous DJs. The album she released her debut Cheers To The Fall (2015) was produced by the singer Adrian Gurvitz. The album was released by Warner Bros. Records. It featured the hit song"Rise Up" which became the anthem for social justice movements around the world. Day was nominated for two Grammy Awards which included Best R&B Album. In the year 2019, she released her sophomore album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album that tells the story of the legendary jazz vocalist. The United States against Billie Holiday came out in 2021. This was the year that she also appeared as Holiday. Andi matichak (born on August 25, 1970) is an American actor. Her debut came in the movie Halloween as Allyson and was later seen in various television shows, including Orange Is the New Black (Orange Is the New Black), Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue (666 Park Avenue), Blue Bloods as well as Orange is the new black. Andi Matichak was an American actress born on 03 May 1994 in Framingham Massachusetts, United States of America.
